The European Track Championships return to Apeldoorn

In 2028, Europe’s top track cyclists will return to Omnisport Apeldoorn. The continent’s best riders will come together to compete for the European titles. Following the successful 2024 edition, Apeldoorn will once again provide the stage for international track cycling at the highest level.

Part of the Dutch Cycling Festival

In 2028, the European Track Championships will be one of the sporting highlights of the Dutch Cycling Festival. In the year that the KNWU celebrates its 100th anniversary, the Netherlands will celebrate cycling and the sport of cycling throughout the year under the motto ‘Let’s celebrate cycling’.

European elite sport in an Olympic year

The championships will take place in the year of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. This makes the European Championships an important international benchmark for Europe’s best track cyclists. For TeamNL, it also offers a special opportunity to compete against the European elite in front of a home crowd.

Working together on the 2028 European Track Championships

LPC is organising the 2028 European Track Championships in close cooperation with the UEC, KNWU, the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, the Province of Gelderland and the Municipality of Apeldoorn. Together with all parties involved, LPC is once again creating a stage for new cycling history at Omnisport Apeldoorn.
